Charlotte AIDS Walk 2013
WHEN: Saturday, May 4, 2013 @ 10am
WHERE: 800 W. Trade St, Uptown Charlotte
We are excited to be participating in our 2013 community partner, RAIN’s 2013 AIDS WALK on May 4. We encourage fans to join us at the event or donate to our team. AIDS WALK Charlotte is the largest HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event in the Carolinas. A two mile walk through Charlotte’s historic Fourth Ward is a visual representation of our community’s commitment to and compassion for those impacted by HIV and AIDS.

Sleepy Poet Annual Spring Yard Sale and Blood Drive
WHEN: Saturday, April 13, 2013, @ 10am – Noon
WHERE: Sleepy Poet Antique Mall
The Charlotte Roller Girls will be participating in the annual Spring Yard Sale and Blood Drive with longtime sponsor, Sleepy Poet Antique Mall. Twice a year, Sleepy Poet partners with the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas and Loaves and Fishes to collect blood and raise money for a good cause. League members will be on hand, donating their own blood and selling goodies to help fundraise for their Hawaii trip to take on the Pacific Roller Girls later this year. You will also have the opportunity to pick up some official CLTRG merchandise to show your support for the league.

Big Gay Sing

The Charlotte Roller Girls will be taking part in the Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte’s Big Gay Sing. CLTRG will be amongst over 100 performers in what has been described as “more fabulous than a GLEE mash-up of Adele, The Sound of Music and a Cher Farewell Tour!”. Instead of watching us skate and knock other girls down, you can come watch us sing and dance! 17th Annual Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade
WHEN: March 16, 2013 @ 11am
WHERE: Uptown
The Charlotte Roller Girls will, yet again, take part in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Charlotte this year. The Parade is a non-profit event, open to the public – neighborhood associations, schools, alumni groups, cheerleading and drill teams, international organizations, police, fire, elected officials, commercial businesses, and anyone else who wants to be Irish for a day.
The parade will step off at 11:00am at Tryon and 9th Street in Uptown Charlotte. We hope to see you there, sporting green (even though we know you’d rather be wearing CLTRG purple, of course).

MLK Serve 2013 with Hands on Charlotte

WHERE: Harding University High School and East Mecklenburg High School
As our first community volunteer event of 2013, we will be joining Hands On Charlotte for their annual MLK Call to Service event this Saturday, January 19. Some of our skaters will be at Harding University High School and East Mecklenburg High School from 10am – 2pm. WHERE: NC Music Factory
The Charlotte Roller Girls will be manning an information table and fun sign station for the evening. The girls are no strangers to hard knocks, but this time they won’t be the ones giving – or receiving – them. That will all take place in the cage for your entertainment.
